FAMILY PET CLASSES at DTCCC
Our classes use a positive, science-based method of training
that makes it easy and fun for both dog and owner alike. Wherever
your interests lie, we have a training program that will fit your
needs.
Dates listed below are the starting dates for individual six week
sessions. Your class will meet the same day and time each week.
All family members are welcome to attend.
Kindergarten
Puppy Training (KPT)
For puppies ages 10 to 16 weeks at start of session.
Six Week Session- class meets for one hour, once a week.
Fee: $125
Fee includes complimentary coupon for our drop in (Pup-Pourri) puppy
class. $15 value.
The most critical time for your puppy's social development
occurs before 5 months of age! With our positive and gentle approach
to learning , puppies and owners will be introduced to basic manners
- Name and attention, sit, down, come, and walking on leash, handling
and grooming. Learn management techniques for house training, chewing,
and especially important at this age, how to be gentle with his
mouth.
KPT will help develop the confidence and social skills needed for
your puppy to become a well adjusted adult. Using games and supervised
play sessions your puppy will meet and interact with people, children,
and other puppies. Also, help your puppy build confidence and have
fun on our puppy sized agility obstacles!

Pup-Pourri (our drop in
puppy class)
For puppies between the ages 10 to 20 weeks. No preregistration
necessary!
One hour session: Fee: $15 per class.
Covers basic handling and training: mouthing and biting, sit, down,
walking on leash, settle, play time and group social interaction,
meeting and greeting, puppy agility obstacle course, problem behavior
solving.
Please bring a copy of your puppies' current vaccination record
with you to your first class. Also bring a supply of soft, non crunchy
training treats, a small bowl for water, and a chew or play toy.
Puppies should wear a flat, snap or buckle style collar. No choke
collars and no retractable leashes please.

Basics for Puppies - Level
1
For older puppies ages 17 weeks to 8 months at the start of the
session & Pup-Pourri and KPT grads.
Six Week Session - class meets for one hour, once a week.
Fee: $150. $130 (with coupon) for DTCCC Kindergarten Puppy
Training grads.
Level 1 graduates receive a $20 discount coupon toward the next
level 2 class.
This course is a continuation of your early puppy training and will
help you to continue training using our positive, reward-based training
techniques. Behaviors practiced are sit, down, stay, come with distractions,
leave it, walk nicely on leash, sit for petting. Some supervised
social time also included.
Basic Manners - Level 1
All ages - For any dog 5 months of age or older with no prior formal
training.
Six Week Session- class meets for one hour, once a week.
Fee: $150. $130 (with coupon) for DTCCC Kindergarten Puppy
Training graduates.
An introduction to household manners every dog needs to know.
Learn to teach your dog to pay attention when asked. How to teach
Sit, Down, Wait/Stay , Come when called, and Walking on Leash, Leave
it.
Address bad habits early. Learn how to prevent or eliminate undesirable
behaviors such as jumping up, inappropriate chewing, stealing, and
more. Learn the fundamentals of positive reinforcement training
techniques and effective canine communication.
The goal is building a cooperative and trusting relationship with
your dog that will last a lifetime.
Level 1 graduates receive a $20 discount coupon toward the level
2 class.
Petite Pooches - Level 1
Would your dog prefer to look eye to eye instead of eye to thigh
with his classmates? If so, this is the class for you. Class is
designed for toy and small breed dogs (less than 25 pounds at maturity).
Taught in a safe and comfortable environment, behaviors include
sit, down, wait, come when called, walking on leash, and sit for
petting, Other topics covered: Small Dog Safety, Barking, Grooming
and Handling, Socialization, and Preventing and Dealing with Problem
Behaviors.
Class is limited to small and toy breeds only ( under 30 lbs adult
weight).

Beyond Basics - Level 2
Prerequisites: Basic Manners Level 1, Basics for Puppies Level 1.
Enrollment of students from other programs will be contingent on evaluation
by a DTCCC instructor. Call for information 610-280-6960.
Six Week Session- class meets for one hour, once a week.
Fee: $150. $130 (with coupon) for DTCCC Level 1 graduates.
Level 2 builds on the basic skills you have learned. Improve your
dogs responsiveness and reliability among increasing distractions.
Walking on Leash, Coming when called, polite meeting and greeting
people, and other dogs. Self control is emphasized and exercises are
done off leash as well as on. New exercises are introduced such as
Stand (used for grooming and vet exams), Behavior shaping, Targeting,
and Tricks.

Advanced Manners - Level 3
Prerequisites: Beyond Basics - Level 2
Enrollment of students from other programs will be contingent on a
training level assessment by a DTCCC instructor.
Six Week Session- class meets for one hour, once a week.
Fee: $125.
Recommended for those interested in pursuing the Canine Good Citizen
and Therapy Dog certifications. This class focuses on building your
dog's best manners and confidence and covers many of the exercises
included in the CGC test. You will continue to improve your own training
skills as you help your dog problem solve and learn new skills. Fun
and challenging!

Class availability and schedule is subject
to change or cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.
Class size is limited to eight dogs per
class.
Classes meet for one hour once
a week, for six consecutive weeks. However, there may be breaks
for holidays, weather cancellations, or other events.
Classes and schedules are subject to change or cancellation if adequate
enrollment is not met.
How To Enroll:Choose your first
choice class starting date from the SCHEDULE list.
Indicate a second choice on your application. Classes fill early,
return your completed application by mail as soon as possible. A
place in class will be reserved only when the signed application,
profile and vaccination record is received with payment. We cannot
reserve a space in the class over the phone, fax, or email. Children
over 12 are permitted to train, but an adult guardian must be present
at all classes.
Class Location: All classes
are held indoors at our training center in the Whiteland Business
Park, 880 Springdale Drive, Suite 100, Exton, PA 19341. Class observers
are always welcome, but please leave your dog or puppy at home.
Class Confirmation:
Directions to the club and other helpful information will
be included with a class confirmation letter which will be emailed
or mailed to you at least one week prior to the first class. You
must be registered and have received confirmation to attend the
class. Call 610-383-1979 if you have not received your confirmation
notice. Drop in attendance is accepted only in Pup-Pourri and Show
Handling classes.
Refund Policy: A full refund
will be issued if notice of cancellation is received by the Information
Secretary at least 7 days prior to the start of the first class.
Cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the start of the
first class will be refunded all but $20.
No refunds will be issued after the start of the first class.
