Lynne Young, AAT, CPDT-KA, CNWI

I currently have 2 Sheltie partners and best friends that I that I train and show  in K9 Nose Work, and do animal therapy work with.  I have shown these and other generations in obedience, rally, and herding. I have been very blessed with sharing my life with many incredible dog buddies, and training mentors. I have been teaching  classes at DTCCC since 2001.
I am certified in Animal-Assisted Therapy, am a certified evaluator for Therapy Dogs International, and I am now a Certified  K9 Nose Work Instructor. I received 5 years of wonderful in-home training from being an area coordinator for the Guiding Eyes for the Blind Puppy Raising Program. I also attended Camp Gone to the Dogs for 10 years and learned from top trainers such as Patti Ruzzo, Leslie Nelson, Sue Sternberg, and others. My K9 Nose Work certification  took over a year and a half, with the founders of the sport, Amy Herot, Jill Marie O’Brien, and Ron Gaunt, I have been teaching these wonderful classes for over 5 years.
My current venture into K9 Nose Work has been one of the most amazing journeys I have been on with my dogs. This new sport and activity is designed so that any dog can do it, and even those who don’t want to compete can share an exciting activity. One of my greatest joys is watching my students be so successful with their canine partners.
I am a positive trainer, and base much of my philosophy on the above trainers, and Ted Turner of Sea World who was giving exciting seminars to dog trainers when I was just starting out over 20 years ago.
My dog, Dina, like my other dogs before her, go to the AI DuPont Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House in Wilmington.
When I am not teaching at DTCCC I give in-home pet, lessons, and private  K9 Nose Work, and therapy dog training lessons for dogs and puppies in Wilmington, Delaware.
