Hajni Halasz, CNWI

My love of dogs is rooted in childhood, when my parents finally gave in to my pleadings, and we got an English Cocker Spaniel puppy. I stayed with that breed for over 30 years. I have been involved in dog-causes for most of my adult life: with our kids we raised puppies for The Seeing Eye, and I volunteered for an organization breeding and training service dogs in Pennsylvania. A yellow lab puppy of this organization was released from the program, and I adopted her. She needed a job, which started me on a journey in Nose Work, We started the sniffing-fun in 2022, and it became a passion for both of us. We attended workshops and camps, to fill our toolbox of skills, while trialing in many states, and now are competing at the Summit level.
During our training I realized that observing how handlers and their dogs worked the different challenges brought me almost the same amount of joy as working with my own dog. This lead me to become a CNWI, and I am eager to be a part of human/dog teams’ journeys as they discover the fascinating world of Nose Work.
