Treibball Faq’s

What is Treibball?
Treibball (pronounced try-ball), also known as Ball-Herding and Drive Ball, began in Germany as an activity for bored herding dogs. It is a sport that can be participated in by any breed – not just herding breeds. In its finished form, the dog and handler team work together to move eight balls into a goal. The handler must remain in a specific area at the goal and direct the dog to bring the balls in. In competition, the event is timed.

Do I need to have done obedience classes before doing Treibball?
Yes. Dogs will require basic obedience: sit, down, come, stay, walking with owner and attention, and targeting skills: hand and disc is beneficial. Dogs must be able to work off leash around other dogs in an active class environment.
