Christine Civil, CPDT-KA, FDSTC-OB

My interest in working with dogs began over thirty years ago after acquiring my first Golden Retriever showing and titling in conformation, obedience, and retriever working tests.

In 1995, I began with teaching manners classes, and in 2002, earn the credential of Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed. As more positive training methods have developed I particularly enjoy sharing new and better ways to train and teach foundation and advanced skills for dog sports such as Obedience,Rally, Freestyle and Tricks.
My educational efforts continue through membership with The Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and workshops, seminars and online classes through Fenzi Academy.

Currently, I am working with my Golden Retrievers Siri and Tripp through the Fenzi T.E.A.M. tilting program (Training Excellence Assessment Modules ) and have completed the requirements for Fenzi Dog Sports and the Obedience/Rally/Freestyle Trainer Certification.
The program’s goal is to recognize FDSA students who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to gaining both theoretical knowledge and applied skills.

All this formal training has been balanced with my journey into K9Nose Work with Siri. We are moving ever closer toward our Elite Championship, having recently earned our Elite3 title.

I am very pleased to be associated with DTCCC and it’s commitment to education and promotion of contemporary, positive training methods. Currently I serve with a very dedicated group of people on the DTCCC's Board of Directors. On the home front I share my life with my husband Richard DDX (dog dad excellent!) and our three Golden Retrievers, Chance, Siri and Tripp.
